THERE IS A CRACK

There’s a crack, 2014, is the result of an extra-curriculum workshop in collaboration with Nihal Aggündüz.
Like the Amsterdam School architecture which, at the image of its complex shapes, bends the use of bricks in various sculptural ways, this brick embraces the duality between permanent structure and ephemeral sculpture. Inspired by the song Anthem from Leonard Cohen in which ‘there’s a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in’, this two parts brick composes a variation of 12 sculptural elements, forever changing as daily light varies.
